Shroudy made the wrong move. As soon as she was flanked, White Fire's horn let out another glow and erupted with fire in all directions. Shroudy's mist evaporated with the intense heat instantly and he recieved a harsh burn to his chest. Nothing fatal, but it sure did hurt.
Tongs beam only managed to barely disperse the fire's center, but even that was too late, and she received a burn to the right side of her face. White Fire was not horsing around. She meant business. Strings fared better, managing to throw the fireball off of himself, however as he tried to charge forwards, the explosive force of the fireball sent him face first into a puddle of muck.
"This is your final warning, leave now or be incinerated." White Fire warned, right before one of her own fireballs crashed into her.
Shroudy's distraction was perfect for Firefly, who kited her fireball after her above the white unicorn, her innate resistance to fire as a sun oriented pegasus coming in handy in avoiding the heat coming off of the spell. "Tongs blast that platform!" she called at her unicorn compatriot. They only had a short window of opportunity before the mages noticed White Fire was down... if indeed she was down at all.

Shroud was well aware of the risks. Given his abilities lay in stealth, water and ice, he was at an extreme disadvantage no matter how you looked at it. He'd said his goodbyes, and while he didn't WANT to perish during this, he knew it was a distinct possibility.
His eyes widened when that bolt came plowing through his directed stream, wings cutting the stream short as he tried to duck out of the way. However the bolt moved too quickly, and he was struck across the left side of his chest, flames licking across his neck, face, and the tips of his right wing.
"ARGH!" Storm Shroud cried out in pain, flapping his wings as hard and quick as he could to keep himself in the air, but not only did the pain shooting through his body make his wings want to seize up, most of his primary feathers on his right wing were singed away, leaving him unable to fly.
Down he went, spiraling to the ground, legs kicking to try and at least keep from landing on his back. Storm Shroud ended up crash landing into a bog tree, tumbling to the murky ground several moments later, twitching and cringing.
All he could do now was drag himself beneath the roots of the tree, hoping to keep himself out of harm's way, and out of the minds of his team-mates. He was no help now, just a burden, and keeping out of the way was the best option.

Hissing and crackling the magic fire easily consumed the flesh along side Tong's face. The pain was intense, her vision blurred from the brightly hot burning sphere. It was possible to dissipate it though she realized. Timing would be important from now on.
She saw StormShroud crumple after attempting the distraction, crumple and fall like ragdoll. Landing with a sickening dull thud. The Grey unicorn whipped back to their adversary with a growing passion to defeat her, when she saw Firefly fly towards her shouting her name. She understood her instruction and began to imagine the flame of her forge, the unforgiving heat and how to manipulate to become a destructive force. With every bit of magic the unicorn had in her body, she charge her horn towards the platform and fired.

Strings got up and wiped the much from his face after the explosion. He saw Storm Shroud crawling to the trees, obviously badly injured and Tongs blasting the platform the Mages are on. While the White mare was on the ground, Strings used this oppurtunity to try to strike again.
He picked up his axe and flew over to where White Fire was. Hopefully she would already be dead. It be an extrordinary feat to withstand a direct hit from one of those fireballs. Even for the pony who created them.

Tongs' attack ricocheted from the platforms, it wasn't going to be so easy. There was a magic force-field in place guarding the platform. A field they would have to go through first before they attack it.
Firefly did not seem to notice this however, as she stopped to hover in mid air, looking scandalous. She was staring at a spot above the battlefield, and began shivering with rage before unleashing a banshee like screech. Surprisingly, it was heard clearly above the sounds of battle, and even caused the mage battery to stop casting for a moment.
"PERCHERON!" The cry carried on, fury shaking every syllable, "I AM GOING TO KILL YOU!" Deafening to the ear, Firefly's cry easily carried above all other sounds, as she suddenly blasted off in a ball of flame, leaving the rest of the team to their own devices.

Strings watched Firefly fly off into the distance. "What the... Where is she going!" He shouted. She was supposed to be the teams leader. Now with her out of the picture, Strings decided he should try to take charge. "Tongs, try to get down that barrier, I'll tend to Shroudy." He flew over to the injured pegasus.
"Don't' worry," He said, "we'll get out of this just fine." He then reached into his saddle bag and pulled out a small vial. He opened it and gave it to Storm Shroud. "Here, drink this, it should help." All the while, he had his axe drawn, ready to charge at the mages when Tongs got the barrier down.

Tongs ears flattened at Firefly's scream of outrage. She hoped she would never anger the pegasus to that point, it seems she would hold true to her promise towards Percheron. The magical field was another factor that left her shaking. Nothing was going right in this fight and it would take their entire team. Unfortunately, one was incapacitated until the potion worked and the other had flown off to Celestia knows where.
I'll do my best Strings! She cried out running towards the platform. She stopped just into front of it. It was very well made, hardly visible except for a light sheen where the light caught on its surface. She thought she heard the maniacal laughter of the white unicorn through prison of fire. A full blast of her magic hadn't affected it. Physically they maybe able to shove through it.
She turned and leaped towards where the rest of her team lay covered in the shadow of the trees. Strings, I have some bad news. My magic cannot affect this. Shroudy was still crumpled at their hooves, the phial had been empty. She only hoped it would work. It will probably take all three of us. With her adrenaline falling her face was starting to sting badly. She took her own potion enough to take the hurt away so she may think clearly. Her good eye ever wandering the shadows while Strings watch over StormShroud.

After having guzzled down the healing potion, Storm Shroud was quick to pull his own unused potion out of his pack, pushing it to Strings so he also had something to help him if it came to it.
The potion did much to heal Storm Shroud's burns, but most unfortunately, a scar now reside where the flames had hit him, and the primaries of his right wing hadn't grown back.
"I'm dead weight," Storm Shroud replied with a soft pant as he checked himself over, "I can't fly with my wing in this condition. And my powers.. My powers weren't MADE for this. I'm more likely to get you guys killed than help." He shook his head, peering through the roots toward the Mage pony they needed to take down.
"I can still provide a distraction, though.. That much I can do. We just need to hold out until Firefly comes back-- Wait a minute." Storm Shroud blinked, turning to his team mates.
"We're hidden! I can flood the area with fog.. It'll be enough that she won't be able to see us , and we can try to ambush her. I can fill this area with the thickest fog in under thirty seconds. It'll force her to either move which will get her off that platform and break her concentration, or it will split her concentration trying to find us. What say you two?" He whispered the plan, peering between them.

"You fools!" White Fire laughed, stepping out of the ball of fire unscathed, "Even your own allies abandon you!" She grinned at the group, before a sharp whistle filled the ears of all and something crashed into the platform of mages unexpectedly, unleashing a massive tremor that threw White Fire headfirst, straight in the muck.
As the debris scattered around her, Valkyrie Razorwing raised a lightning charged hoof, the entire battery of mages now incapacitated around her. "All you have to do now is keep her busy!" She said before blasting off into the sky again.
Of course the mages had been expecting an attack from the sky, but they expected soldiers, not Stars. From her altitude, Valkyrie managed to pick up enough speed for her Comet Bolt attack so that she struck before they could even notice her, much less defend themselves from her. But now they were still one member short, even though their mission was complete, they still had to face White Fire, and soon the guards from the pyramid will get there to cover the opening.
Her smile faded completely from her visage, White Fire took herself out of the mud. She was angry now, very angry. "You..." She called, raising a threatening hoof at the group, "Will pay for that." At once white flames erupted around her body, engulfing her completely, symbiotic to her body. The burning pony. This visage was associated with only one pony. For only one pony had ever managed such a mastery over fire magic. That pony was none other than the legendary Ash Rider.
As if to prove the point in question, a sword quickly materialized next to the flaming unicorn, Magmarhyme. It brandished itself as though it had a will of its own. They could see the heat waves emanating from the blade, shining with the surface of sharp yet liquid lava. It would be safe to say White Fire's jimmies were definitely rustled.

"Oh, well this is just great." Strings said. The mages were taken care of, at least for the moment, which was good, but now White Fire has engulfed herself in flame, something he had only heard of being done by one pony in the legends. And, to top it all off, she had a blade made of what seemed to be lava, and possibly had a mind of its own. If he wasn't sure before he was now. "We're screwed." He thought aloud.
Strings looked around. The platform shattered and the mages scattered around, and a fire pony with a lave sword threatening them. He saw only one solution, but he wasn't sure if even that was possible with Storm Shroud's condition. "We need a way out of here and quick. Anyone have any ideas?"

"Yes," Storm Shroud grunted in reply, shaking his head as he stepped toward the edges of the roots, "You run."
Without another word, Storm Shroud stepped out into the open. Expecting to be greeted with an immediate attack, he darted out into the muck, wings flapping to carry him across jumping-glides. He couldn't fly, but he could glide.
Once he had a good pace moving, he began to flap his wings vividly to form a thick bank of fog which began to wash over everything, cloaking everything.
Now they had the advantage.. Sort of. In the fog, as bright as White Fire was, she would be blinding herself. Everyone knew light produced glare in the fog; She would be easily seen, and she wouldn't be able to as-easily see them. The only reason he could do this now was because the other mages were down for the count, which meant.. Maybe, now, he wasn't totally useless.
This also provided his team-mates a chance to escape while they had the chance. Storm Shroud had no plan to run; Even if a distraction was all he could provide, he would provide it, no matter the cost.

Tongs's jaw dropped as the unicorn stepped out of the ball of fire. This was not possible. Only one pony had known to master fire, a legend, a specter, it now stood before them blazing brightly. A part of her was secretly pleased when the mud splatter across her face, but it was a flicker of hope in her fear.
She was about to answer Strings, when StormShroud glided forward commanding them to run. Shroud! NO! She cried, but it was to no avail, the fog had encompassed everything. She would be unable to find the pegasus, even if she had wanted to. Her right eye although able to see shapes was useless in fog. Let us run Strings, but before we do... Her horn dimly glowed lift a dozen or so sharp arrow heads from her pouch. She aimed toward the brightest area of the fog letting them fly, before retreating as quickly as she could.

White Fire was just about to transmute the fog into flammable gas when a bunch of arrowheads shot out towards her from the fog. One of them passing right through Shroudy's thigh, tearing his leg's tendon and another nearly managed to scratch White Fire.
With a roar of anger White Fire used her magic to blow the fog towards the escaping ponies and set it alight, turning it into a firestorm. Unfortunately for Tongs, she was still in it as she escaped and suffered even more burns as she escaped.
"You!" White Fire called at Shroudy, surrounding him in a ring of flames, "You move a single muscle and you're toast." She threatened. Knowing her mage squad was still incapacitated, she decided to take their place, launching fireballs into the air towards the Equestrian forces.

Strings watched as the arrows flew through the air, one through Shroudy's leg, and another scratching White Fire. The mare then set the fog that Shroudy had conjured up alight and blew it towards Strings and Tongs. Strings just got away, but Tongs received more burns. All this made Strings feel really bad. Both Tongs and Shroudy had received horrible injuries and all Strings had so far was a couple bumps and bruises. However, he had to focus on the task at hand.
He desperately wanted to save Shroudy, but there was no way that was going to happen, so he decided to keep running with Tongs. This was the only way he was getting out of this alive. He wasn't only doing this for himself, if it was, he would be doing all he could to get Shroudy out alive, which would probably mean his death. But, he had loved ones at home that he made promises to. And for the first time, those loved ones did not only include family. He had to make it home.
Strings looked at Tongs. "If you have a health potion, drink it now." He looked at her new burns. Hopefully they weren't to bad. "Do think you'll still be able to run? Because it looks like that's the only option now."
