"Yes, I would definitely need a research assistant. Hopefully one outside the academic community, who will not covet my research." The unicorn hinted with a smile. He took one of the snacks and downed it with a rather unceremonious bite. "Sorry about that," He said, "But these are delicious!"
Running a check on his satchel he wrapped some of the snacks in a handkerchief and deposited them inside, leaving more than half for Stardust of course. It would be impolite to leech off her hospitality. He took to stretching his limbs in anticipation, several loud cracks were herd from his stiff joints. He had been sitting on that cloud for a long time...

Smiling, she wrapped the rest in linen and put them into her satchels. "Thank you, I've picked up a few recipes for on the go." Stardust buttoned the pouches before looking at him once more. "I would be more than happy to accompany you to the ruins." She confirmed with a slight nod. "If it's not too much trouble."
Inside the pegasus was very excited to go, but she knew that there would be a good bit of danger. She thought about bringing her old dagger, one she had found when she was younger at the stalls of the great Cantorlot and bought for it's eloquent design.

Hind Sight clapped his hooves together excitedly, "My dear, not only will it not be any trouble, it will be my pleasure to have you as my assistant." He exclaimed, "I will teach you all I can along the way, have you ever learned a second language? Ah nevermind, we'll go through it in the air.
The would-be-doctor of the Equiterian Empire got up an stretched his legs, knowing he would have to spend a bit more time on his flying cloud. "Alright, are we ready to get going? The sooner we get there, the sooner we can get on with the research!"

The dark mare seemed slightly flustered at the thought of learning a second language, but smiled warmly at the idea. "I'd love to." She muttered softly, standing to sling the satchels over her back with a careful mind for her wings. Turning she trotted to the drawer in her kitchen, retrieving the hidden dagger and slipping it into a bag before getting a pencil and a notepad, just in case. Looking back at Hind Sight she gave him a nod, lifting a hoof in anticipation.
"Yes, I'm all ready if you are." The mare did want to get going, she would bid her beloved flowers farewell on the way out as she always had. They had enough water from the moisture in the clouds to stay alive for a while, let alone the clear moonlight they could bask in for food. No, she had no worries of her plants.

"Ah this must be my lucky day," Hind Sight muttered, opening the door and holding it for Stardust to get on his cloud, "An assistant and directions to Canterlot at the same time... Once we get to Canterlot it should not take much time at all!"
As the prospect of unraveling the secrets of the Equiterian Empire drew close, Hind Sight could feel the excitement gushing within him, his heart was pumping blood at record pace. He felt energetic and powerful. and suddenly sitting still on his cloud on the way to Canterlot seemed a very difficult task, but he was also a very patient pony. He waited this long, he could wait as much longer as he had to.
He sat besides Stardust on the cloud and gave her a bright grin, "Thank you ever so much for joining me dear, I can't say how much of a lifesaver you are!"

She giggled softly at his excitement, giving him a small 'thank you' as she moved through the door and onto the cloud. Personally she wasn't used to the thing and preferred to fly, but this would save her energy and probably time. Hopefully it wasn't effected by the air currents that came with living so high.
Stardust just smiled at him and tilted her head a bit at the comment. "You're welcome, I'm very honored that you asked me." She admitted, taking in a deep breath of the cool winter air. The sky had been getting darker, but she knew the way to Cantorlot by the stars so that would definitely be a plus. It was normal for her to travel by moonlight anyway.
Looking down at the land of Equestria, she sighed with content. "So, what was this about learning a second language?" Silver eyes looking at Hind Sight, she grinned with anticipation.

"Yes, of course when I work with the index you'll be with me so I can try and teach you some Equiterian but more important than that, I will try to teach you what I know of Draconic. A lot of ancient cultures used Draconic, and anypony who explores must at the very least have a basic understanding of it."
The cloud began moving steadily, "See Draconic is not complex, but instead amazingly simple - so simple that every word represents an abstract concept!" Hind Sight began, "Every inflection and tiny bit of context matter in Draconic, because otherwise something as simple as the word 'stop' can be interpreted as 'die'!" And as Stardust navigated towards Canterlot, Hind Sight continued explaining the principles of Draconic to her. He would in the course of the next days study fervently with her the Equiterian writing language and continue to expand her Draconic vocabulary.
Up until the day finally comes where they adventure to the Equiterian Ruins in Equestria.
(Thread locked, good job Stardust, I had a wonderful time!)
